On a quest to digitize my family VHS tapes as best as possible, I bought a S-VHS player with French SECAM support (HS820F refurbished by VCRshop), a local version of the ES10 (EH50) and a DVK-200 as cheapish TBC.

I set them all up and tried to extract a short scene with two different USB cards: An Hauppauge USB-Live2 (first version) and a Data I-O GV-USB2, both using SVideo and via VirtualDub (the version that LordSmurf shared and the settings recommended here too).

Sadly, the chroma is getting dropped somewhere, I tried to plug the VHS player straight to the USB cards but this did not fix it.
How can I fix the chroma issue? I looked in the VHS player menu and set up the system to all possible options but to no avail.
What can I do from there?

Thanks!

Are you sure the VCR accepts native French SECAM? You may have a MESECAM VCR.
