I have had a good run recently and so, my workflow has decided to introduce a new glitch.

Within the first few minutes of capture, what I can only presume to be my Pinnacle, will randomly disconnect. I hear the Windows "dedong" sound and the preview in VirtualDub freezes.

I have had this three times now. On my forth attempt I heard the "dedong" and a single frame was inserted but so far so good that capture seems stable. I can live with that.

What gets me is this behaviour is new. I haven't done anything. All this computer does now is VirtualDub, that is its only purpose. Things were working! Why the new behaviour!?

Is there a log in Windows XP that would tell me exactly what disconnected at that time?

Note: for those who may have read my other recent posts, Audio Playback is disabled for these examples.

VHS/Hi8 (PAL ONLY) > JVC HR-7965EK/SONY CCD-TR748E > CYP CTB-100 > PINNACLE 710-USB2 > WINDOWS XP 32-BIT/10 64-BIT
