Finally, after a lot of waiting time, I got a second-hand ATI TV Wonder HD 600 USB from USA (eBay). I need to capture PAL tapes.

But I have trouble installing it on my Windows 7 machine and I am confused with various versions of the software, MMC, CMC...etc.

The card came with a CD that has drivers & Catalyst Media Centre, and it installs fine. The drivers are done, CMC is installed. But the CMC doesn't allow me to capture lossless (Huffyuv). It only has a set of compression formats (such as MPEG-2, MPEG-2 DVD, H.264...etc) in the drop-down. I understand this specific card is NOT a hardware MPEG card, so it must be trying to compress using software.

The interface is also not identical to what Lordsmurf posted in his guide on capturing AVI with ATI Card using CMC.

I tried installing the software from this DFAQ site but it says 'Incomplete build'.

VirtualDub sees the card just fine, but when in Capture mode, it doesn't show my installed Matrox lossless codecs at all (under Video Compression).

Please help.

Give me a few hours -- I'll post the guide. It's long overdue anyway.

Still working on it.
There's not just one guide, but several: (1) installation, (2) capturing MPEG with ATI CMC, (3) capturing AVI with VirtualDub.
Have to write everything up, make some links, refer to or make new related forum posts, take screen shots, etc.

Takes some time.

Working on it between projects that are ongoing this week pre-Christmas.
