Does the BVP need to be realigned for each tape?

I was looking at the examples and repair threads and saw that the boarders need occasional tuning, does this need to be done for each tape? I am thinking about buying one but if the difference is negligible and its a PITA to use for a batch, I don't see it being worth it.

The Elite Video BVP-4 (and BVP-4 Plus) proc amp can be temperamental -- but not that temperamental! It should not need more than the occasion realignment. In the 10+ year I've had one, I've only done it twice.
