I want to convert all of my VHS and Hi8 tapes to a digital format without having to spend a fortune. I have a MacBook Pro and a desktop Mac. My Hi8 recorder is a Sony Handycam Vision CCD-TRV615-NTSC. I am so confused by how much conversion stuff is on the market, and all the wildly varying reviews they all get. I am not a tech guru, but I am fairly proficient in knowing my way around a Mac. My question is this: Simply, without getting crazy technological on me, what do I need to buy, SPECIFICALLY, in order to make a decent DVD copy of these two types of tapes? And how do I go about doing that? I do have a VCR player. I have a Thunderbolt cable. My Macbook Pro is the Retina mid 2012, OS X version 10.11.5. Please help in simplest terms possible, including all items needed to accomplish this task. I have probably 60+ tapes to copy. Thank You!
