It's decent. A JVC DVD recorder is better.

Certain Pioneer and Toshiba units may be better (but not ALL of them). It really depends on what you plan to record with it.

It's 60$ refurbed from geeks. So I guess it'd be decent for something if someone wanted it?

I bought the magnavox 10D6 it was $99.999. I recorded 16 out of 17 movies with no need of my clarifier. I dont think this unit detects the different types of microvision.

dsmyth, if you go to a hutchins (can't spell) store near you, you could get a decent pioneer dvd recorder for about £200.
A bit costly, but worth it in the end and the picture quality is brillant. just ask LS or spokyfox about the john doe set.
I have the dvr-230, but their might be a newer model out for it.
