Has anyone tried DaVinci's Super Scale feature for 480i video? I see it is mostly mentioned when upscaling between HD and 4K video. I would think it would not do so well with SD video due to the lack of detail.

I also heard that Teranex has an upscaling feature that some companies rent out to use for upscaling? Is it worth it?

I currently use nnedi3_rpow2 for upscaling in Avisynth, but the primary purpose is not to add detail but to upscale to HD so that YT gives it a better bitrate.
