Hi all

Did a comparison video.

Workflow is JVC-HR S7600AM > Sony HXD890/Panasonic DMR-ES10 > Magewell Pro Capture HDMI (I don't use the HDMI input, I use the S-Video input).

I am really impressed with the quality of the Magewell, so I wanted to give it a good TBC. I have tested also the GTH ACE but I wanted to keep this video for the purposes of the DVD recorder as a passthrough - as I know there is another YouTube video out there that isn't really a fair test.

Debate welcome.

What kind of source is this, ntsc or pal ?
On this specific tape the pana wins as far as stability, but this truth is for one tape, it may not be for another

I love how you can tweak the levels/sat/hue/details on the Sony. The chroma noise reducer is very light but best to put it on, middle setting.

PAL tape I recorded October 1st '93. Believe it was the UK premiere of T2.

Yes you're right about it is only one tape. I don't have a lot of dodgy tapes to be honest. More playing needed.

The colors with the ES-15 on the workflow look better. The whites look more white.
