Based on "Who wants to compare our VCRs?".

My apologies for such a long delay in posting these; I had bigger plans for what to put in the first post (i.e. I wanted to have shots from other movies ready to share as well). But I ultimately decided that a huge information overload all at once wouldn't help anyone, anyway.

I have at least 4 more VCRs to add to this one, assuming there is interest. I've included relevant picture settings where possible (for some of these I was just doing a quick test with no remote available).
Titanic - SP mode - Approx. timecodes, from physical start of tape incl. black:
1:56
5:02
7:37
9:24
JVC S-VHS

SR-W5U (gshelley61)

SR-W5U (robjv1 - missing image 2)
[..... .... .... .... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ...]

Panasonic S-VHS

AG-1970P (TBC Off -- at least with this particular unit, the colors are affected when it is On)

Sony VHS

SLV-585HF

SLV-N500

Attached Files
File Type: zip VCR comparison - Titanic VHS screenshots (2014-05-23).zip (22.68 MB, 6 downloads)

Split posts due to image limits.

Things to look at: color, detail, halos, smearing.

In future I would like to add videos. lordsmurf had suggested that FTP access may be a possibility.

Yes, be very sure to upload images here as attachments to the forum. The zip is fine, if you want to hotlink elsewhere. I would hate for us to make something nice, then have the "image sharing" site disappear. It makes the whole conversation worthless when images disappear. This has happened to often at other site like Videohelp.com in the past.

Thanks.
