[ADMIN's NOTEBOOK] 4/29/2010
Came across some interesting plugins tonight, may have to use these on some sites!
- CMS Page Tree View - look at WordPress pages from a standard tree instead of the almost-random plain page list. This ADDS a new view, instead of replacing the other one, which is nice. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...w/screenshots/
- Pretty Link (and Pretty Link Pro) - instead of using tinyurl.com or bit.ly, you can make your own URL shortener, and it comes with tracking. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/pretty-link/
- Google Analytics Dashboard - not the same as other Analytics plugins, this one displays activity per post in the post/page dashboard. Quickly track how a particular post is doing, rather than logging in and clicking forever through the somewhat-cludgy Google dashboard. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-analytics-dashboard
- Facebook Dashboard - not sure if this is good or not, may as well list it for further review and testing. Supposed to add Facebook widget to admin backend. Not exactly clear on its purpose: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/facebook-dashboard/
- Yoast Remove - it's nice to make plugins, but being forced to have the Yoast channel is a bit much. This kills it, finally. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/yoast-remove/
- To-Do List - I always forget what I'm doing, so it's great to have a place to leave notes, much like vBulletin has. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/to-dos/
- Enhanced Post List - this may be too old, but worth testing. Lets you sort by more options, such as author, in the admin. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/enhanced-views/
Also, for site (not admin)
Plus some SEO advice, for refresher reading.
And SEO plugins (not sure if I need them, can maybe optimize on my own just fine). Want to re-investigate again, see if I changed my mind on not using them.
That's it for now, back to work...
