I have an mpeg 576x480 and i want to crop it to 560x304 using avisynth.
Is this possible? Do i have to add borders?

Could some one please explain how to do this for me, thanks.

Im using avisynth 2.08 and moviestacker but really dont understand the
crop/resize functions.

Any advice would be helpful. Cheers.

Hi Ftin

I'm assuming you want to display it as full screen or widescreem movie on monitor or standalone DVD player which the tools here give you.

If so I'm not aware how you can crop an mpeg without decoding, cropping and reencoding which will degrade quality somewhat. Depending on your source (mpeg1, mpeg2) you can open it in VirtualdubMod crop it with one of the filters and framserve it to avisynth using optimal script. The Gripxxx funtions will resize to conserve correct aspect ratio. Use save Wav in Vdubmod to save sound file. Feed script and wav into Tmpgenc.
