Not best looking, because of the resolution, but if does fit complete with the 352x240 PLUS. It's excelent quality for VCD resolution. But it's a very long movie to fit in one CD with any other templates.

Now that I've got the templates to work has the whole idea of 1 CD movies been abandoned?

Ah well... =)

The idea has never been abandoned.
Yes, with the KVCDx2 704x480 1-CD, it will look great on regular TV's. But when viewed on HDTV's, it's a NO NO!. And I got tired of people saying that "KVCD's look like crap", because they viewing these on high end HDTV's, and that pushed me to the limit
So now there's a wide choice to select from KVCD templates, so you pick the best one for your taste.

Well I don't have an HDTV so I'm not too worried about that. I've an old 21" that I use, and hopefully a 28" shortly.

My parents have a 36" where they live and I would like to do encodes that will look decent on their set as well.

I'm trying the KVCDx2 704x480 1 CD template right now with Six String and DVD2SVCD. The CQ has been calculated at 48.64

I've about 8hrs left for that encode.

Then I'm going to try the old 352x480 template and see how that one goes.

Thanks for your work and feedback.

Hey m0rdant,
Here is a tip if your movie is too long for the KVCDx3. If your movie is a high action scene, go for the KVCDx2 352x480 PLUS. If it's a drama type, low action, then go for the KVCDx2 704x480 PLUS. If you use the 704x480 for a very high action movie, and you have a large TV, you may see small macro blocks on those scenes. You won't see that on the 352x480 PLUS template.

Hope that helps!,
