I have a 9500u that needs all the pads replaced. I have searched high and low, and found surprisingly little on this topic. The original pads are some kind of felt, but I have not found any posts identifying what kind to use. I have found some using chamois cut in strips, but I would prefer to keep this as close to the original specs as possible. So does anyone know what the OEM felt was, and if it is available anywhere? Thanks

Try this 1mm thick felt pads:

If you must have self adhesive ones, try this:

I had this same question 2 years ago, a google search would have brought it up and you did'nt have to make another thread:

Thanks, but I saw that thread. It just mentions chamois, not felt, which is what I was asking about.

I was supposed to update that thread but because the VCR I was trying to fix had more serious problems than just the brakes it renders it not worthy of repairing so I never got to try any of the recommended solutions, Let us know how your repair experience goes.

I wouldnt be replacing the felt parts unless there was an obvious problem with each one. What are the problems or symptoms?

They are packed with dirt/dust/plastic and very smooth and hard, don't brake at all, so my tape tension is messed up.
