Hi,

I have a couple of questions.

Firstly, I am thinking of purchasing a Blaupunkt on ebay for converting my gzillion old VHS-C PAL tapes, I see that this is unit similar to a Panasonic 1980p machine. I understood that all these units, if purchased on ebay need servicing? Anybody can recommend a good service in the Toronto area?

Second, I need a good VHS-C adapter, anybody has any recommendations.

Third, I would need a recommendation for an external TBC unit, I remember there used to be a thread here with external TBC units, somehow I do not seem to find it.

Much appreciate it!

Dana

1st: Doubt it. VCR repair is sparse. TGrant doesn't ship to/from Canada, so you have few others choices.
Read this: The best place to get JVC/Panasonic S-VHS VCRs repaired!

2nd: JVC C-P7U and clones. It's a metal shell. Avoid the cheap plastic junk.
Some other posts in this forum show/mention clones.

To Canada, I have a new green AVT-8710 for $400. My last one.
Somebody else has first dibs, but if he passes on it, you'd be next in line. Let me know. PM if interested.

Thanks a bunch lordsmurf! I see from your post that B&H has the AVT-8710 unit - is it the same with yours?

No.
I have the known-good green version.
They have the black hit-or-miss (often miss) version.
Not the same.
