I am still poking about seeking a nice backup VCR, I currently have a JVC-S7800U. I do not necessarily need a internal TBC (it's a backup and I have an ES-15 and TBC-1000). I recently came across the Sharp noted in the title and I cannot find an owner's manual anywhere on earth. I do not want to buy it without some facts. It's true S-VHS but I know nothing else, menu functions, dimensions of the unit, quality?
Does anybody have any knowledge or experience with this model? Thank you all.

I see after more research the Sharp to get is the S100U. That vcr seems to be found nowhere. So...if the S100U is out, that leaves me deciding twixt the Sharp S101U (which appears to NOT have a video noise reducer like the prior model, or back to Panasonic S7670. Good Lord it takes me too long to make these choices.

Hi. Did you end up getting the SHARP VC S101U. I found one in 2021 and am facing the same indecision as you did in 2018!

I did indeed get the Sharp.
Have used it as my mold unit. It played very well over the years.
But...
The tape mechanism often refused to eject unless I unplugged the unit for a while.
Also cannot fully turn blue screen off and in a bad bit of tape will sometimes display PLAY.
I’m sending it to the recycling unless someone wants the parts.
Anyone want it free? Just pay shipping and $5 cocktail fee!
