I've found this in a french site:
Quote:
CD-ROM-XA Mode 2 Format 2:

74 mn (XA- 2)=333,000x2,324=773,892,000 octets= 738.0 Mb
80 mn (XA- 2)=360,000x2,324=836,640,000 octets= 797.9 Mb
90 mn (XA- 2)=405,000x2,324=941,220,000 octets= 897.6 Mb
99 mn (XA- 2)=455,500x2,324=1,058,582,000 octets= 1009.5 Mb
120mn (XA- 2)=540,000x2,324=1,254,960,000 octets= 1196.2 Mb
Is it correct ?

Edit: And how many of these bytes could I use for my MPEG ?, or, emm, the max file size for these CDs (bytes, please)

Thank you in advance.

I don't know where exactly you found this but on my cds is written:

1. 640MB/74MIN
2. 700MB/80MIN
3. 850MB/99MIN

I didn't see any other cds but it's absolutely possible to be like you posted.

Anyway. My standalone dvd player cannot play cd-r/w bigger then 80:50 min.
That's it. That's the maximum. If you are playing your cd-r/w on computer
you can go as far as your cd/dvd-rom can handle. As usual there is no
problem to overburn a cd with nero but when I was overburning 99min cd
after that it doesn't work so good.

Weird enuff,
I went to burn a kvcd the other day and nero was reading it as
a 1.2gb file as opposed to about 800mb's or so.

Anyone ever come across a similar issue?

Yes, if you mux as mpeg-2 or mpeg-1 standard, I've seen something like this . Never if you mux as vcd or svcd.
