Nice explanation .
But I still don't know which settings to use in the HC encoder.
Using Tdecimate in the script, should I set HC to do a 3:2 pulldown or not?
I don't think so, right?
I feel dizzy already lol.

Actually the two situations that exist are :
- the script is outputing something in 29.970, then you set HC to interlaced
- the script is outputing something in 23.976, then you set HC to 3:2 pulldown

If I'm not wrong, what I suggested to you should give you an output in 23.976 from avisynth, so this is the situation #2.
