Been playing some more with Dnr2 and am impressed with its speed just like Undot, plus it seems to do a decent job at removing noise while adding a bit more compression.

Dnr2()
I think kwag said something about messing up the chroma
but it never had that effect in my encode, than again i think he past
it throgh Vdub and Vdub seams to show more than you want to see and even more on a still shot some where in that tread is the sample shot; and if you want i bolive Cnr2 is suppose to do the opposite denoise chroma. :P

Cnr and Dnr2 are two completely different filters, maybe you were using Dnr2 which is for "Dynamic Noise Reduction" and Kwag was looking at Cnr which is for "Chroma Noise Reduction"? This would explain why you were both getting different results.

I tried the DNR2 filter a few months ago. I found using the default DNR2() setting washed the picture out. Lost color and sharpness. Great for compression possibly though. I do not know if any newer versions have changed the default settings.

Nope it was Dnr2 cause u dont get almost no compression from Cnr2
and that was the Topic on that tread getting smaller file size which you do
with Dnr2. Nevertheless, Im not promoting the filter im just saying use
it if it works for you.

@ovg64
I know you were using Dnr2 but Kwag was looking at Cnr or Cnr2, I think there was a misunderstanding because you told him you were using Cnr2, probably just a typo.

@digitalize
I have only used Dnr2 for 2.5 and only with Kwag's optimal script and must say it looks pretty good.

Thanks for opening my eyes Dano it was a mistake on my part, I confused Dnr2 with Cnr2 as you see the file size w Dnr2 is smaller and that was the hole point.

301 frames= 1101kbs
Dnr2+301 frames= 1034kbs
Cnr2+301 frames= 1091kbs

Sorry guys, but Dnr2 is a NO GO

Here's the current optimal script with Dnr2() and WITHOUT undot()

And here's the same script with undot() and WITHOUT Dnr2()

Save the pics, and blow them up. You'll see what I mean. Better yet, use vhelp's "PicSwitch" and you'll see the animation
