Hi,

I just downloaded the CCE2.6 trial, and was thinking about testing it with some (S)KVCD encodes.

I have searched the forum but haven't found any compatibility info regarding the Optimal Script and CCE, or any adjustments that might need to be made. Thanks as always

Dialhot,

Yes I have already been using vmesquita's guide for my first cce encode.

I was having some difficulties with the script he posted so I was wondering what changes I would need to Kwag's optimal script here.

Thanks though

Which problem do you have ?

Normally the script is not tied to any encoder, except for some colorspace problem that claim a final "converttoXXX()" at the end of the script in order to have the correct XXX color space to feed the encoder.

Dialhot,

I was able to use the Optimal Script with CCE without a problem, now I just need to tweak the prediction a little. Thanks!

You also can use the slicer() function to archive very accurate predictions when using CCE ... since some Weeks I do all my predictions on CCE DVD/KDVD encodings using this , once you're in it, its fast and makes fun

(Also explained how it works)

Hi guys,
You're right Vortech. Since Dialhot helped me install an YV21 Codec on my PC, that comes with Nic's XVID encoder, I have been using the latest Kwag's MA script with both TMPGEnc and CCE 2.67 without any problems.
Hey Incredible, that's a nice slicer you have there. I'll give it a shot in the next few days.
C ya.

That's YV12, not YV21. And as it is said, it's "included" in the Nic's XVID codec.

Go there : www.codec-download.com

I am having problem with MA script using CEE as well. It gives me error " Couldn't find appropriate video codec for YV12". I have already installed Nic's XVID codec looking at this forum and it still did not solve my problem. Any suggestions. Thanks,

Have you tried downloading and installing the XVID codec found in the GordianKnot.CodecPack.1.5.exe

I have a very basic system, Windows 2000 with Media Player 9.0 and XVID codec installed and I have no issues with Kwags optimal MA script.

Hmm,
Once a wise man said that when having problems with a script and an encoder one should:
1 - Make sure he is running the latest stable version of Avisynth,
that is currently Avisynth v2.53 http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/a...3.exe?download
2 - Make sure he is using the latest MA script (It has been updated lately ) http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3483
3 - Make sure he has installed Nic's Xvid encoder that comes with a nice YV12 codec http://nic.dnsalias.com/XviD_Install.exe

Should these have already been checked, there are always two ways of dealing with the problem:
1 - Insert an ConvertToYUY2() line at the end of the MA script before the functions (mostly needed by CCE, but not always ).
2 - Reinstalling Avisynth v2.53 (this one solves ~50% of avs problems...)
If neither work keep asking for help

ok guys im a video lover myself and have been in dis business for a while ... however i have NEVER used cce up until last week, and ever since, ive done EVERYTHING on VMQueista's guide (yes i got all da plugins and templates and even played da script through WMP 9 wit no problems, and ran it through cce ... works fine and encodes JUST FINE) ... now here's ma problem! first of all, as i have read above, for downloaded movies, i always get an error message dat ma input file must be YUY2 or YV12 and im totally confused bout da YUY2 part but i get da YV12 part (yet i still cannot find da YV12 codec ... nic's xvid compilation doesnt have it nor does his source code ... maybe ill have to try gaurdianknot later but its just too much work for now) .... i have 2 d/led movies and 8 personally ripped movies dat just look and feel great (wit divx 4.12) ... so now, here's ma question ... when i encode it wit cce or even play da script wit WMP 9, da whole movie is turned into a bluish or reddish mpeg or mpv. god i hate to say it, but ive been stuck on dat part of da process ever since ... i have avisynth 5.2.3 just like u guys said and i really have gone by vmquiesta's rule book, but im seriously gonna break some rules and do some further personal research if u guys cant help me ... but i doubt i will get any far myself ...

i have my CQ value by da way ... its 21 ... i used da manual method explained in VMQuiesta's guide ... AGAIN, i can encode ... but da script is da problem! becuz when i play it in WMP. i see it blue or red again (u can play da avi straight through ur avs script, but it runs much much slower becuz of all da simultaneous filters loading and running). dont get me wrong .... its not red and blue for a single movie! so far, one movie is bluish, another is reddish, and even another dat i just did right now, yellowish. wow soon i might have all da colours in da rainbow!

so can u guys help me? im gettin really pissed off by dis bs ... btw, i get da same colour problem when usin da LATEST OPTIMAL script ... and last but not least, in a whole movie, only things that are white usually become blue or red or yellow or etc ... so just thought that might help ... but i did say usually! mostly colours close to white .... i would appreciate a quick reply ... but THANX ALOT in advance ...

@All,

I am definetly not a fan or proponent of DivX/XviD encodings in general, and I also find it very silly and pointless when I hear about people downloading low-quality garbage encodings of movies from the internet rather than going to the theater or waiting for it to become commercially available and then purchasing it or renting it. To me, not only is this wrong, but it would also totally ruin the enjoyment of seeing the movie.

I am also not particularly enthused about some of this particular member's (mr. demon's) recent postings here. However, I felt compelled to point out that there is nothing inherently wrong, evil or illegal with someone simply stating that they have "downloaded a movie". There are many legal sources (both free and commercial) of DivX/XviD/MPEG-4 material (as well as other formats), and it is unfair to jump to conclusions and presume that someone is guilty of any sort of illegal activity simply because they have stated that they "downloaded" something.

Now, if someone is stupid enough to say that they have downloaded a movie that is currently in theaters or some other work that is copyrighted, then by all means, that person deserves to be sternly warned that what they are doing is illegal and that they are breaking our forum rules. But failing any proof, the person should be presumed innocent of wrongdoing (in other words, we should assume the movie they downloaded is a non-copyrighted legal work...otherwise, we would have to ban all discussions of MPEG-4 from kvcd.net and presume anyone who mentions these formats is guilty of illegal activities). Mere suspicion of guilt is not the same thing as being guilty. We all know that some people download things that they shouldn't, but we also need to remember that not everything being downloaded by people is illegal.

Regards,
-d&c
