With YV12 you have both better speed and better quality
RGB is the worse mode to use. YUY2 is acceptable.

If you have the last realese of codecs, they all output n YV12 by default so "no conversion" is the same. Now, if DVD2SVCD now allows to select (force) YV12, then do it !

With a good script and a resolution of 480*480 max, CQ=100 is not surprising. Let remember that KVCD is designed to put 120 min per disc.

ok I have them, and I will use no color conversion now on, I always used RGB now I see it goes much faster, but I dont see any quality difference, but I dont care. but I dont understand the ReadAVS.dll thingy, without that it just doenst work, so I will have to use that for now on, plz expalin whta is is, cuase you can also select some of those settings in TMPGenc it sle (environmetal settings) do I have to chage anything there? and do I now have to slect another motion serac precision? i use motion estimate search now, should I go on to high or normal? and how about the DCT componment orso (8,9 or 10bits)?

yes I always use 480*480 (sometimes in PAL or NTSC it becomes 480/576) but i dont know what ya mean with a script (im a newbie)

If you do not use Readavs in tempgenc, the work is done using directshow filters. DS filters are like codecs, piece of software used for decoding the sources. Here you clearly have on tour PC a codec for your kind of source but NOT a ds filter taht can handle it. So you don't have the choice and must use readAvs.

That is why my first question was to know which were the codec (generally we have the opposite situation : people have the DS fitler but not the codec).

Nothing else.

ME is really good and faster as any other solution. So keep it.

Let is on 8 for better results.

Did you select my script in D2S ? The one called "DivxFilter".
You have a line "GripCrop". The two first parameters are the height and the width of the target and D2S will replace them by the correct values (here 480 and 480) during the encoding.
If you want to use 544*480, as d2s does not know this resolution, you must put the value yourself, manually.
