i have 2 mpegs that i want to take the audio out as a single file
file1: 76 mins
file2: 20 mins

i got this mpegs from a vcd using vcdeasy tool, tha vcd plays perfectly in all my home or software players.

also tried copying from the vcd and then converting dat to mpeg by at least 2 other utilities

i tried joining with tmpgenc merge and cut and then demux, but my resulting file is only 56 mins mpeg, so i didnt even demux after this

so i just tried to demux file 1 and 2 separately then use something else to join the 2 audio files BUT at the of file 1 demux, audio is only 36 mins

Its gettin interrupted somewhere in the middle or detecting end of mpeg or something.

so my question is, is there a better tool to join the mpegs or a workaround to this?
tried using bbdemux , didnt work either

i really dont care about the video, i just want the audio as a single file, my whole 76 mins with no cuts in between.

file 1 also plays and previews fine under tmpgenc itself

any alternatives to demuxing the audio (i can use whatever to join the m2a's) or joining the mpegs firs then demuxing, or fixing the 1st mpeg file so it will work well in tmpgenc will be appreciated.

Maybe your problem is your mpeg decoder. Have you elecard mpeg decoder? If yes, change it to Ligos or Mainconcept mpeg codecs.
Surely you will see then your correct movie time. Use then some of your previous methods to join the audio files.

and if the decoder was the problem, will it still play the files with no problem in tmpgenc and MPClassic? coz it does now

oh and doesnt that elecard/ligos etc have more to do with mpeg2?

this is an mpeg1 vcd im having problems with, but i dont know thats why i ask. :P

Use AVICodec to see what codecs have you.

i have a ligos but it says it is for iv50
i see no mpeg1 decoder or codec at all
just mp42
mp43
and mpg4

so i dont know what is decoding mpg1 vcd

any ideas?

or alternatives? i just want to extract the sound , anything that can do it without "finishing" before the end will do
