Ok this may be a stupid question. I have done searches to no avail so here goes. When I encode a movie using TMPGE using the KVCD templete it encodes only video. I used virtudub to extract the audio to a wav file, but what do I do to get the audio into the movie once it is encoded in TMPGE. What program and steps do I need to take
Thx Ted

You encode your WAV with either HeadAC3he or BeSweeet.
Then mux with TMPEg or other muxer

when you say encode the wav, do you mean to mp2 format ? and how do I then use TMPGE to add it to the encoded video. sorry to sound so dumb. I have just always added the wav file to tmpg when I did the actual encoding from avi to mpeg1 o2

We don't use TMPEG's internal audio encoder, because the quality is not as good as if you encode with an external encoder.
That's the reason all templates were set without audio.
So you take your WAV file, and encode it to MP2 with HeadAC3he or BeSweet, and then you mux your video file and your MP2 with TMPEG's muxer, which you find on "Tools" menu option of TMPEG.

Yes you can, and you can also use "mplex".
You should have no trouble if you use TMPEG.

I seem to still be having problems. After I encoded the movie in TMPGE I go to add the audio in avi2mp2 and I get the following error
Error in MPEG stream at offset (bits) 13. supposed marker bit not found. I then tried doing the mux in TMPGE and get Illegal MPEG audio stream. I used Virtudub to rip the audio as a wave file, then used headac3 to convert to a mp2 file. Everything went great up till trying to join them with the video.

Also what progam is used to burn the movie to cd-r Nero would not work.

Thx Ted

Can you explain step by step what you are doing with tmpgenc ?

In TMPGE I am loading the KVCD templete and letting the movie encode. I am not changing any settings here. it shows as a M2v file. When I go into nero it does not recognize the file. It first annal the file and tells me filename.mv2 is invalid need mpeg2 which was encoded for Super Video CD. If I pick VCD it says the same thing just uses Mpeg1. It says below this 0 video 0 audio and will not load the file to burn.

Okay,

First, tmpgenc encode a m2v, tat means a "VIDEO ONLY" stream. Nero needs a MPEG, that is VIDEO+AUDIO. So you can't feed the m2v directly into Nero.

Second : even with a mpeg, Nero will complain. You must uncheck the box "do a compliant VCD" or ask to Nero to ignore the compliance when the error window opens. That's all.

The same with a m1v or a VCD mpeg.

Illegal Audio stream could be cos you are not resampling to 44100Hz.

Once you mux you will get a mpg file and use the right header.

Here is the lastest things I have tried. I loaded the KVCD templete in TMPG and edited it to add sound. It creates 2 files. a video file m2v and audio file mp2. after the encoding is done I tried using bbavi2mp2. it combined ok but playback was no video. I tried adding the 2 together using TMPG tools and it plays back fine. The audio is there it is just kinda weak. Is there anywhere I can read a how to for headac3 and bbavi2mp2. I have to have something set wrong. Since it works in TMPG it should work in the other programs.

after reading and reading and seeing about what the size the wav file should be after ripping it using virtudub. I recall the wave file only being about 250 meg. I redid it making sure everything was checked right and it came out to be just over 400 meg. I used Headac3e to make the mp2 then used bbmpg and also used TMPG and it worked great. I guess my trouble was me being stupid and asking before I redid everything a second time. Thx again for everyones help and sorry to ask before I leaped so to speak.

Note: a lot of problems comes also from bad sources. In fact, anytime you do not manage to do something, you should start again from the begining with an other source.
