Hey everyone i am a new person to this website, as you can tell i joined today. Yeah i know alot of video formats and everything but i bearely heard about KVCD today and i heard that you can fit 180 minutes on 1 cd with amazing results and wow!!! if thats true wow and if it is true then i would rather make a movie 120 minutes per cd for better quality. but can you rip a movie and then make it a kvcd or do i have to convert it to another high quality compression like divx or something like that? oh and hey can anyone please show me how to do a kvcd x3 plz i would appreciate it thanx.

The go for KVCDx3, and it will look almost like a DVD
We've been putting ~2 hours on a CD with the latest techniques, like FaeryDust and Convolution 3D filters.
Check this thread: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2339

hey well yea i will try to learn how to make a kvcdx3 but i will need a guide that explains most of the steps and software i need. can you please show me a guide so that i can learn. because 2 hours on 1 cd with high almost dvd quality shhh i dont believe it. i can make really good dvd quality video but only 50 minutes per cd but na that doesnt compare to 120 minutes of high quality video on only 1 cd. thanks kwag for starting this and all you others for making this what it is now. peace

It's right at the top: 704x480
That would be the KVCD 704x480 PLUS template.
You must burn your mpeg file as non-standard VCD so that the authoring programs ( VCDEasy, Nero ) will read the file.

I don't even remember what movie it was, let alone what settings I used . I believe it was 352x240 LBR, but with the new techniques I believe it would be possible to get the same amount of material (depending on the movie of course) on one disc using 528x480.
