The new templates seem to be giving me more misquitos than the old ones. What am I doing wrong?

Is there a way to "reduce" misquitos or are they washed out when viewed on TV. (I have a 27" Sony)

If you're using the default CQ values, that's probably why.
Use file prediction to optimize your quality and file size.

i also tried the new qmatrix and saw a tremendous increase in moquitos as opposed to the old q matrix...with CBR, CQ, CQ-VBR...I was re-encoding a beautifully coped SVCD (my mintek does not like SVCDs)...using the defualt Tmpgenc Q matrix cleared it right up.

That's because the default Q matrix compresses a *lot* less than either the v1 or v2 KVCD matrices. Try both with file prediction and you'll see a big difference.
