First of all the right sequence:
avisource("D:\SHARE2002\DVDRips\MoonLight DVDRip XviD-AEN.avi")
ConvertToYUY2()
LegalClip()
GripCrop(352, 240, overscan=1)
GripSize()
FaeryDust()
#SpaceDust()
Convolution3D(preset="movieHQ")
#TemporalCleanerOld()
GripBorders() -> optional
LegalClip()
Sampler(length=24)
Second: You don't need to hash the line 'Loadplugin(...)'. You can load all filters and only put hash on the 'filter line command'.
About the error, sorry but i never used avi files, but I guess that you can't use a name longer than that. May be a dumb advice: try to rename to a 'SHORT_STYLE_FILENAME.AVI"
Maybe a AVI/DIVX expert could help more

Followed instructions and moved the conv to any dir, then installed the bat files, then moved the reg and dll file where the conc was, changed the path of the reg, double clicked it, and no joy, VFAPI still cannot load READAVS.dll.
Then i tried to put the reg and dll to the tmpgenc dir, did the same changed the path of the reg, actioned it, and opened tmpgenc to find it was still not loading??
What have i missed? or not doing correctly...

@XsniperX
I just want to say I feel you problems. I have just recently registered. I have been ripping movies for a long time and have just recently got into making vcd's. This kvcd this really caught my eye. The only problem is it is a lot of scipting that I am not very good at. The guide by black prince (even though very detailed) is still confusing to me. I have made a lotr 2 4 disc version (xvcd) of very high quality just by reading from the dvdhelp website. But am very interested in making a 2 disk version (hq) of my new dvd rips(backups). Just a little background if anyone is interested I have a pent4 2.2ghz 512ram 128gforce4 240gig of hd 40xcdburner, dvdplayer. The tv I play my movies on is a 57" sony wide screen, and dvd player is a toshiba 3850 (I think). Probably way too much info but I will be asking some questions soon and you will all probably hate me so just a little heads up. Also like to say that you are all great about advice and help and keep up the great work.

Hiya bald guy
Thx for msg lol, looks like i am not the only one
If you read my post from the beginning and work your way down, there is good information how to get started, as i also started from scratch and the info here, got me to know how KVCD works.
But at the present minute I am stuck on the readAVS.dll in VFAPI as without that i cannot start experimenting, and still cannot get it to be recognise in TMPGenc, reads the file, the file is there, but says "cannot load"...
So if anyone can help me how to set readAVS.dll in TMPGenc so that it gets recognised by VFAPI would be great...
I also going to teach a whole community about KVCD I am on too once i get the hang of it as they are all very much intereted init, but i am the one nneding to get it sorted b4 tellein em.. oh well.. sonething to do i guess

Thanks for the help. Today I am going to start over using kvcd and use black princes guide to start. God help me. But I have never quit on anything. But if this works and I can make kvcd's as good quality of my dvd avi rips to play in my dvd player then it will be all worth it. Good luck with your problem. Hope I can help in the future.

hoya, well i am encoding now, but there is something that seems odd!, maybe its normal, but doesn't look it from where i stand....
This is my script i am using atm to encode:
copied and pasted from movie.avs:
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2\MPEG2DEC.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2\LegalClip.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2\Sampler.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2\DustV5.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2\TemporalCleanerOld.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2\GripFit_Preview.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2\Convolution3d.dll")
avisource("D:\SHARE2002\DVDRips\MoonLight.avi")
ConvertToYUY2()
LegalClip()
GripCrop(528, 480, overscan=1)
GripSize()
FaeryDust()
#SpaceDust()
Convolution3D(preset="movieHQ")
#TemporalCleanerOld()
GripBorders()
LegalClip()
#Sampler(length=24)
When i tred playing it in WMP or Bs Player, the movie played like if it was in slow motion?? is that normal?, now encodeing the file in tmpgenc, and it seems to encode a lot slower than a normal encode, any views on that pls? thx

Hi XsniperX
If you use the combo FaeryDust + Convolution3D, you'll have a 12/15h encode time for a ~120min movie. . But the compression and the quality are awesome. If you use SpaceDust +Temporal, the encode time will be almost the half time, but the compression is lower. Normally I follow the Kwag's advice: "for ~120 min full action movie use Faery+C3D for 1 CD or use Space+Temporal for 2 CDs"

Thx again, like the sound of things
Tried the KVCD3x temp and in preview i get a black border on the sides, anyway to get that off? so i tried kvcd 352x480 120 min one, and i have the borders on the side too, and a hell of a lot of black border top and bottom.
But i guess the top and bottom won't show up as much once finshed, but the side ones are strange...
any sugg?

You want that on . On your TV, it will be stretched to the edges. But on WMP or a software player, you will see boders on the sides. This way you are encoding less film pixels that won't get cut off on by TV. That's what is called overscan blocks.

Hi guys..
On file prediction:
I have : 150495/87/24=62.5
695.6/104.4=11.1
11.1/6*70=129.5
So i put CQ at 100 (at max)
did another recall as file came up as 13.7.
So did 11.1/13.7*100=81
so put my CQ at 81.
So the question is i have to repeat this file prediction till i get the 11.1 i need right?

Hi XsniperX!
Is your file of 768mb. the final file of BBMpeg. I say, is it video+audio? If it's video+audio, you sure can burn on 1cd. Use VCDeasy, add you file on first screen, choose to make a bin/cue file, don't select a writer, and then, burn the 'image file' with Nero
But, if your 768mb. file is only video , then you messed up something during the prediction step.
Let me know.
