The higher you go with MIN, the more bits you're loosing on low action/low lit scenes
You use the minimum MIN that your standalone can handle. No more, no less

HI kwag

nice to hear from you again

So is there like any inbetween value for min bitrate? I have heard you mention before you wouldn't go higher than 400 min due to getting more black bits.

Thanks.

I always though, the higher the min bit rate, the higher the overall quality...

Is it best to leave the min 300 max 2500 setting in mpeg-2?

That's what I always use. All my players play flawlessly with that range.

I've set the minimum at 150 since my player supports that low values. I don't know if it does any good, but it's there anyway

On dark scenes, that will save you a lot of space
