This doesn't always happen, but some of my encodes (from DivX AVIs) have some slight jerkiness whenever there is a slow moving camera pan...if there's a lot of motion going on while it's panning it's just fine, and it happens quite rarely, but I was wondering if there's any way to fix this?

I think I know exactly what you mean. Try to up the minimum bitrate to 450, and see if the scenes still look jerky.
If that doesn't help you should try MPEG2 with a VBV buffer of 112, and see if that made any change!

At first I thought Jelly.. was full of it, he he... sorry - but then that
started to get me thinking.. hmmm... that makes sense. DVD players are
designed differently. And, as such, some may choke on too low a bitrate
setting (minimum) while others, may play w/out issues. Same goes for
SVCDs, when you raise the bitrate too high, you notice things like hickups
or studders etc. Yes, Jelly.., that makes perfect sense, and I will
remember this the next time.

Actaullly, today, while at work, I was thinking about getting yet, another
DVD player. But this time, one that PLAYS EVERYTHING.. including all the
kvcds (so I can do more tweaking) ..since my AD-1500 does not like 528x
and MPEG-1 kvcds other than 352x240. I'm going to have a look over at
K-Mart and see what they have (Money ?? not worried) Any recommends ??
But I want to be able to play every template w/out issues, including those
LOW bitrates.

PyRoMaNiA.. ( you make it hard for me to type your name he he.. )
I'm curious.. have you fixed your issue thanks for Jelly..'s suggestion ??

Well, actually I haven't tried yet... The problem is completely ignorable, it only happens a few times per movie really, but I was just wondering if there was any definite way to sort this out. I don't think it's the min bitrate as my player plays the credits fine (where I would assume there is a very low bitrate)...But thanks for your replies and I'll let you know next encode I do with any camera pans!

Actually the end credits of my movies are often higher than i would have thought. Even though there is a lot of black i still end up with a higher than average bit rate. A little crazy but check it out in the bitrate log when you are encoding, so jellygoose might be right with the low bitrate thing. So good luck with that.
