Thanks t1955feb!

Just take the GOP values in the template and change the ones in DVD2SVCD under the "Encoder" tab and then "Advanced settings".

Hi kwag
I have used the settings from your template gops bitrate audio in dvd2svcd but the filesize is always to big.
When i use xmpeg 4.5 and frameserving to TMPGenc the filesize is much smaller?
Strange
Greetings

In the BBmpeg tab under advance settings make sure VBR is checked. This will make a non standard VCD.

Also in the bitrate tab set ur # of CD's to 1. If you are using 80 minute CD's make the size 800, if using 74 mins CD's set it to 740.

Also set ur min =0 Max=1450.

This should make the file size under 800 meg using Kwag's settings.

I'm doing some test using DVD2SVCD and kvcd, using Mpeg2 with CCE and Mpeg1 with TmpgEnc.
The first test is good, i can fit Evolution PAL 97 min. Mpeg2 with 2 audio stream at 96 Kbps and 2 selectable subtitles on one 80 Min. cd with an average good quality.
When i finished my test, if you are interested, i will post the DVD2SVCD settings file so anybody can use this setting with this amazing all in one easy tool.

bye.

Hi i have put the settings from kwag's template in to dvd2svcd and the result is amazing.
I never make svcd agian , most movies fit one one cd and when a movie is to long i take the old template from kwag and i live in holland so i prefer subs and there comes dvd2svcd in handy great tool.
But if you want to post your dvd2svcd setting's i wil looking forward to it.

I've made some more test using DVD2SVCD and CCE 2.50 as encoder.
For the moment seems that the TmpgEnc have a better quality at lower bitrates (using mpeg2) but maybe i have to tune better the gop for cce.
I'm doing some more test and will report here.
When i find wich one produce better quality i'll post the settings file.

see ya.

Here's a quote from the guide of the makers of DVD2SVCD:

"choose TMPGEnc as it encodes much better at VCD mpeg-1 video
than CCE does and choose Constant bitrate (CBR) for Rate Control Mode"

Yes, i know that Tmpg works better then Cce for vcd mpeg1 compression, but i was talkin' about Mpeg2 compression.
I' m trying Mpeg2 'cause i want dual audio and 2 selectable subtitles and this is only possible using mpeg2 compression and build a non-standard SVCD.
With mpeg1 is possible using dual audio (when muxing video and audio choose svcd instead of vcd) but is not possible to have selectable subtitles but only permanent.

Bye.

Hi Kwag,

For those that use dvd2svcd to make VCD's here is the matrice for the new KVCDx2 it can be added to the Matrices.ini file at the bottom then selected in the Matrix Tab.

[Kwags KVCDx2 Matrix]
Intra=8,13,15,19,19,23,23,29,13,13,17,19,22,23,27, 29,15,17,19,22,23,27,29,35,17,21,22,23,27,29,35,37 ,21,21,23,27,31,33,37,46,21,25,27,31,33,37,46,58,2 5,25,31,33,37,40,54,69,25,31,33,37,40,54,69,78

This sounds very simple. Just enter Kwag's 5 GOP values into the Dvd2SVCD's encoder tab, I can run the kvcd on DVD2SVCD. Is that all it take?

I suppose I also need to check the VCD button under the Misc. Tab.

Please confirm the steps it take to do VCD/KVCD in DVD2SVCD. Thank you very much.

sorry but cce can't accept this new gop structure, sad I know. If it could than I would say that 1 cd with dvd quailty may be possible using its faboulous mpeg 2 in cce.

If anybody finds a way to put the gop into cce contact me immediatly.

Can someone kindly summarize the steps it takes to use KWAG's templates in DVD2SVCD?

My understanding from this thread is to change GOP number only.
Is that all?

Please help.

Thanks a lot

Hi all,

There is a new beta Version of dvd2svcd that includes Kwag's size. Also you can arrange the Avisynth script.
