ok had my first go at moviestacker and boy I have no idea what the hell I'm doin, unti trying moviestacker I have been trotting by merrily using the scripts mentioned on the forum. I wanted to try and do a kvcd right from scratch no scripts premade. So anyway will there be a moviestacker to kvcd guide on the way??

Edit: You might want to change Precision to 0.5% on 1st Group of passes in ToK

I changed the images from .bmp to .png format so it should load faster. The images went from about 1mb to about 35k each in size

Actually, the audio doesn't necessarily need to be 44.1khz for KVCDs. Many dvd players will handle vcd/kvcd's with audio @ 48khz (mine does, as well as a few others I've tried). 48khz audio should sound better (and encode quicker too without the downsampling cycle in heacac3he), so if a person's player will support it, I'd say use it. Afterall, KVCDs are a sorta funky format themselves, so if a player will play KVCDs at all, then it's probably worth a shot trying the non-standard audio too. For newbies though, guides should probably state that they should start out with 44.1khz for compatibility reasons....then they can test whether 48khz works later on when they know what they're doing.

nice guide by the way Ren!...a very welcome addition.

you're right "dc".

the audio in 48k have "proud" basses, clear quality.
new model seems that don't have this problem.

but thinking in newbys, we need litlle samples to give them to test.
some old player don't like 48k,
then after burn a test in cdrw, all can choose what works.
see what happen in my player:
burning svcd in nero with menu(images) and audio 48k,
sometimes i loose the sincro.
in 352x240 all audio bitrates works perfect.
or i remove the menu or change the audio to 44k.
i'm trying to buy a new player to remove this and
some more problems.....i'm searching a new one!

for my surprise, the new model of Semp in Brasil,
don't play standards vcds or svcds...kvcds?...forget! don't work!
and the price is in the stars.
only play dvds,no mp3 too!
well,better is trash this model,don't?
