I'm about to build a new system and am wondering if my encodes with TMPG will be any faster if I splurge for a HyperThreaded chip over a non hyperthreaded one.

I know the benchmarks say HT give a performance increase, but they aren't using the same software as us... TMPGenc...

Anyone have any realworld experience or knowledge of this?

hi audi2honda..

I remember seeing several topics on this, over at vcdhelp. People were
boasting how fast it was and what nots.

Give a search over their for now. You should find something - for sure

HyperThreading should blow away any P4 at any speed. TMPGEnc supports it
TMPGEnc supports it since version 2.59. It's on the history link above.
