FFdshow (and now I guess ffvfw) can operate a space color conversion from whatever you have to whatever you want.

All you have to do is to activate ffdshow for every video stream it can handle (including "raw video" (the one generated by avs script) and to uncheck every "Supported output color space" except YV12.

All this settings are in the tab "Codecs" of the configuration panel of ffdshow.

@ Jorel...

I made a copy of ALL those codecs at that page you posted. I remember
going there many many months ago, but lost it, then YOU posted it some
time later (month ago I think) and I was happy again. Sometimes I forget
to hit Ctrl-D to save save as link. But, these days, when I want to save
a web sites' page, and since i use Netscape for quicky HTML coding, I just
copy the URL link and going into my MAIN page (I use for when I first start
my browser) and include that link in my organized (somewhat) personal
main page. Hope that made sense. Then, I can later on, just start another
browser, and go straight to that link by clicking on int. Anyways.. that was
me, sharing w/ you my wisdom of techniques and things.

Jorel, if you still can't find a YV12 codec, I should still have that all those
that I D/L'ed for safe keeping, and I'll U/L it to my webpage for you.

Filename: (Codec) - (ATI-YV12) - ATI.YV12.Planar.Format.Decoder.v4.12.exe

Note, the Bold

Have a great day all

You want the best YV12 codec ? XVID !

But it depends on what meaning you want to give to "best"...

Hey all, I just recently changed to avisynth 2.5x and upon trying to load script into CCE I get the following error, "couldn't find appropriate video codec for YV12". I tried some version of xvid and also ffdshow. Can anyone pass me a link to maybe a newer version of xvid or something else that might work? Thanks

By default XVID codec provides YUY2 picture. You have to open its configure box and select "output : force YV12".

Thanks for the reply Dialhot but I got a question, where is and how the heck do you open the configure box?

I just reinstalled Koepis Xvid-04102002-1 the stable version. I then went to control panel/sounds and multimedia/devices/video codecs and select the properties of xvid and I cant do anything else, settings is greyed out.

Is there a different version that I sould look for ( or can you give me a link ) or did I just do something wrong?

I wonder if what you have are the settings of the encoder and not the decoder.

Do you have zoomplayer ? If yes, use it to watch the video and you can change the settings of the coded while it plays (right click on the image, then "filters properties".

Or you can use "DXman" from analogX
(www.analogX.com).

Jorel and Dialhot, thanks for the help! I just uninstalled avisynth 2.52 and installed 2.08, loaded the script into CCE and it worked. Could it be in avisynth 2.52??

Anyway thanks for the help, later when I get some extra time I will install 2.52 and add the line that Jorel suggested and then try Dialhot suggestions - Zoomplayer and DXman.

Dialhot, you said "not the Decoder", I am working with a dvd rip script not a downloaded clip, if it matters.

For sure : avs2.08 works in YUY2 and not YV12. That's the main diff between the two !

@Tutankhamun
If you want to work with Avisynth 25x and CCE, you should add at the end of your avisynth script
ConvertToYUY2()
CCE wants YUY2 input...
AviSynth 208 works in YUY2...
