Stop boring yourself with templates ! Use always the kvcdx3 and change the resolution according to your needs ! Adjust also min/max bitrate.

You have no way to know that but, fortunaly, that is not mandatory
Min must be set to the minimal supported by your standalone (mine supports 64, some 0, the majority claim for 300, very few need 600 min).
The maximum depends on the length of your movie.
If I want to put a 2h30 movie on one CD, it's easier to do that at 1800 as maximum that if I let the max to 2300 for instance. For sure scenes with big movement will suffer from this, but there is no way to put a movie such long on a CD wihtout limiting the bandwith somehow.

hello all. i have been able to complete my first kvcd conversion from 1 avi file to 1 kvcd file.
My question is in the guide at step 5 is says "If video is larger than 800 MB, ...." is this a typo or is that correct. a 80min cdr is only 700 mb.
which would mean you would have to trim just over 100 mb for the video to fit right?
If i am wrong can someone let me know.
and for those who are wondering my 1 avi file was 699mb and with converting it i was able to get a 434mb kvcd file.

hi lordviper2300
vcd are burnt in mode 2 which allows 800 mb's instead 700 on a regular 700 mb cdr

Size of the original avi has really nothing to do with it its more about how long the movie is.
Many people join 2- 700 mb avi's together and they make 1 kvcd

nice guide, thanx! i've noticed though that whenever i play back the encoded video there's sorta pause happening every tenth second... which is a bit annoying... any ideas why that might happen?

Set the video encoding mode to "3:2 pulldown during playback" in tmpgenc. That can solve your problem.

Where the hell did you found this resolution ?
This is NOT a legal resolution and I'm even surprise you can read taht on your standalone.

No, not at all.
3:2 pulldown has nothing to do with aspect ratio.
It has to do with framerate flags.

I did not asked you how you did that I asked you WHY you decide to use this NOT LEGAL resolution.
And your player does not play it well : it freezes every 10 second
I really don't understand the purpose to use such low resolution. If you like things unwatchable, stuck to regular VCD

And you say you have this also on the PC ?
Save your tmpgenc project as a text file and post it here please.
And you script also if you use one.
