Another stupid question from me.......

I've searched the guides for this but couldn't find it.

What to use for DC component precision when using TMPGenc (Encoder settings - Advanced - MPEG2 Video settings).

I have this on 8 bits, but remembered there was a guide (avalons ?) that mentioned 10 bits.

What does this setting do anyway ?

PS: The link for avalons DVD2SVCD guide leads to a guide that is not for DVD2SVCD (?)

Forget what Avalon tell in any of his guide. Kwag always recommands 8bits (I din't remember the details of this hint, you can ask him if you need them).

For MPEG-1, it must be 8 bits, because MPEG-1 only supports 8 bits.
For MPEG-2, I always use 8 bits for my KDVDs, because I'm using a MAX bitrate of ~3,000Kbps.
If you are going to use a MAX of ~5,000Kbps, then use 9 bits.
