I ripped them with subrip with "only forced subtitles" checked. Then I processed the subtitle track and it only got the forced ones.

A little search on the web with sub2sup will give you the solution

The only other way I know is to generate a son (not sub) file with subrip. son is the format for dvdmaestro. If you use this authoring tool, that's the way to do.

Sub -> ifoedit -> vob is the way to use if you work with DVD-lab.

You could use an avisynth script to get the subs on the video. I don't know the exact line to use but it's possible with an .SRT .

I didn't noticed that andy was doing KVCD

The answer I gave to you where for DVD. Sup file is for dvdlab, so it's a
KDVD toppic.

Man, you are talking about muxing with Ifoedit ! Are you doing KDVD or KVCD ?

I'm doing KDVD sorry for puttin this post in here I done it automatically lol I normally do it as demux audio and subs (only when forced subs are required) tmpgenc for video then mux it all together via ifoedit (no menus) in the case of lotr I used dvd shrink to make sure I could get the movie to fit an to set the forced subs to show when played. The only problem I have had now is the colouring of the subs I kinda figured out how to do it all with srt2sup used the prog to position the subs when played saved to sup file muxed it but colour is lookin a bit off so tinkerin about with it.

Anyway if this topic could be moved to KDVD forum to avoid further confusion pwetty pwease lol appologese once again for wrongly posting this here.

Don't bother coloring them now as they will be badly colored again after authoring.
What you have to do is to open the final VTS_01_0.IFO (the one of your authored KDVD) and the original one (the one of the DVD) in ifo edit.
In the original, unfold the "VTS_PGCITI" part and select the PGC corresponding to your movie (generally, PGC1). Then go to "subtitle colors" menu and select "Copy colors from this PGC".
Now go to the final IFO, unfold the "VTS_PGCITI" part and select the PGC corresponding to your movie (generally, PGC1). Then go to "subtitle colors" menu and select "Paste colors into this PGC".
Save the IFO. That's all

I've personally never managed to get the copy sub color right with ifoedit, that's why I'm always authoring with dvdmaestro as i'm used to it.

That's true that subtitle colors is a real pain in the ass.
The only efficient way, usable in evey case, is to put by hand the values you want in the final ifo ! But you have to put them in hexa and if your are not clever with this, just forgot.

The problem is that even if ou set the correct color in one of the processing step, they will be scred up by the next one ! You have to set the color in the final step !

So no need to set the colors in str2sup. The settings won't be use anytime.

woo hoo I'm gettin there hehehehe I'm slowly getting it all together through dvdmaestro, I am currently repositioning the subtitles as I've noticed delay in the subtitles showing but hey I'm getting there hehehehe I may also have to re-encode the video as the file sizes in total for both parts are comin in at over 5 gigs (not good).

I'll keep u lot posted to how I'm doin send ya prayers my way I'll need it for having patients
