Hi ,im trying cq vbr in cq matic but since i have really no clue on cq vbr i am having problems

i know how to save it for cq matic wiht no problems but here is how it goes

Movie 2h17 minutes full screen

352X240, min 300 ,max 1800

cq matic starts at cq vbr 15
next cq 69.30 picture is horrible and very blocky
next cq 79.65 picture is worse
I know people like to use cq vbr with vcd resolution but what am i doing wrong

Hi bigggt,

As you're doing MPEG-1 (I guess?), have you tried the latest version of acp
You can do CQ_VBR or CQ with acp
See what result you get. If you still get an ugly picture, and acp calculates a similar CQ_VBR value, then the problem is with your source.

Thanx Karl,i have downloaded the new acp and will try but this happens everytime i have tried cq vbr(thats why i guess i have never used it)

As it being the source it is a dvd and when i use cq it looks fine.

BTW shouldn't cq vbr with the movie being full screen and over 2 hours be more like 20

With CQ_VBR, yes.
With CQ, it should be around 60+ ( at 352x240, for a full screen )
