@All,
I only had this DVD Player for 28 days and it burned out and won't
turn-on. I played everything on it (KVCD, DVD-R, etc.) and
it played them all with very good quality. Now it stopped completely.
Well I was thinking of trying Norcent's DVD any comments or other
DVD suggestions
Thanks

Hi BP,the old norcent 300 are great ,i have one and they play everything,
The new ones however seem to only play 352x240(according to the compatibility test)
I bought the norcent 311 when they were on sale at walmart for 48 bucks exclusivly for kvcd and returned the day i saw they had more 300's but they have switched the chip in it so the kvcd3 wouldn't play either
Don't have a dvd burner to test dvdr

Hello BP:
I purchased one unit some time ago, and lasted 3 months and 1.5 weeks, then it went kaput....... - with the same simptoms that you are talking about- and as you know, the warranty is over in 3 months. However, I called the main office, located in California, and after explaining my problem and concerns, they agreed to check it and either repair it or send a new one at no cost to me. I received a new unit a couple of weeks ago.
Regards
Otto

@All,
I decided on JVC XV-N44SL DVD player which was on sale until
Jan 4, 2004 at $65 with rebate. It turns out that JVC have a good
durability rating (they last longer than many others) and this
model came from Kwag's compatibility list. I just hope this DVD
player lasts longer than 28 days...

@All,
JVC XV-N44SL (Silver Model) is sweeeeet !!!!!
It plays everything cyberhome 300 plays and has
a longer warrentee. If it lasts as long as my last JVC
XV-S60BK (3 years), then I'm very pleased.

Hi BP,
Congrats on finding yourself a spiffy new KVCD player!
By any chance, have you tried a kvcd using 48kHz audio in it yet? And if you wouldn't mind, could you clue me in on where you bought it from? (see, I don't really need another player myself right now, but it's always good to have a backup dvd/kvcd player in mind, just in case of emergencies. ).
Thanks pal,
-d&c
and have a safe and happy new year! (same to everone else reading this too! )

Hi d&c,
I have tried KVCD 352x240 plus with 48khz audio and it plays great!!!
This player, JVC XV-N44SL, also comes as JVC XV-N40BK (black)
and I found mine at Vanns.com. Your right, It's always a good
idea to have a backup DVD player, especially when it becomes
available at a discount.
