Compatibility of home burned DVDs in set top DVD Players?

I haven't done alot of research on this, but I've found that when I burn a DVD-R using Roxio, older (over 1 year old, I guess), basic DVD players can't read the disk.

But I have no problem...

But how come if I use VirtualVCR or iVCR I don't get any dropped frames? If I do the 'test internal' off the capture menu, I also get dropped frames.

It seems like its some configuration issue...

It's happening on an EP recorded VCR tape and all so on an 8mm tape. I haven't tried other types of VCR tapes.

How does Movie Stacker compare to DIKO?

Are MovieStacker and DIKO basically competing products that do similar things? Or is it more like VirModDub?

Are they suited for different types of situations?
