I just recently bought a 2011 mac mini, it has usb 2.0 ports, a thunderbolt port, & a firewire 800 port.
I have read that there is a new processor coming out from intel called ivybridge, which will support usb 3.0 natively.
If apple comes out with mac minis in 2012 that have usb 3.0, would it be worth it for me to possibly sell my 2011 mac mini & then get one with usb 3.0 ports?
it would be a bit of a hassle as I have installed some of my software on it, & customized it a bit too.
I am unsure, & wonder if I jumped on mine too soon. I do want something that will last me a little while.
would it be worth the possible hassle? is usb 3.0 that much better than usb 2.0? so far, when I wanted some more speed, I have used my external hard drives with the firewire 800 port on my mac. The hard drive enclosures have firewire ports on them.
So far I like the mac mini it is fast.
