i have a bunch of songs - all in mp3 format.
all from varies sources and i don't have the originals.
some of the songs played back fine - at least for my ears.
some were too loud.
so i used mp3gain to reduce the "loudness" on some of the songs.
all fine so far.
now, there are a few songs which are actually too "quiet".
the songs themselves are not meant to be "quiet" like a quiet section in an orchestral piece.
it is due to bad encoding that the songs are so quiet.
so, you might say, use mp3gain to boost the volume of those songs.
my problem is that when i see the volume level of these songs in mp3gain, they are already at the "normal" target volume level of 89 dB.
so, how can i boost the volume of these songs?
does it matter if the volume levels go above 89 dB?
won't there be "clipping" problems if the volume gets over 100 dB?
any ideas?
i want to get all these songs playing back at one volume level and not bother to have to turn up the volume on my mp3 player for the few that are too quiet.
cheers.
