people,

trying to search for a good scart-to-scart cable.

should i go with something like the "thor" one shown here:

any other brand names you can recommend?
bear in mind i'm in the UK.

Go with the best one you can afford. Some of the cheapies are known to pass a color signal as B&W, so you want to avoid that problem. Otherwise, it's really no different than buying any other wire (good gold connections, thick wire, etc).

oh big & mighty lord,

just another quick question ... the cable that comes with the jvc drms100 looks quite well shielded ... is this good enough or do i splash for a meatier cable?

It may be good enough. Usually JVC packed-in cables are pretty solid.
