i have several VCRs for sale or trade:

JVC HR-DD740U - this isnt a SVHS, but it has the Dynamic Drum and has very good picture quality, excellent shape and very low hours - no remote, but front panel can control everything - $40

Sanyo GVR-S955 - SVHS editing deck - SP only - comes with manuals and software disks,
excellent shape with low hours - the picture quality on this unit is excellent
i tried to record and test tape and it kept fast-forwarding the tape, not sure why seems fine now, see post#6
- all other functions work perfect - $100

JVC HR-S4800U - SVHS VCR with remote & manual - nice shape and very low hours - $50 - SOLD!

JVC HR-VP627U - regular VHS nothing special but works good - no remote - $20 - SOLD!

JVC HR-S7100U - SVHS VCR works great - no remote, but front panel can control everything, has as a few scratches and missing its fake woodgrain side panels - $90 - SOLD!

i played around with the Sanyo today and the record seems to be working fine.
i recorded the movie Kill Bill Vol 1 off my DVR and the came out perfect.
perhaps i wasnt doing something right before... IDK
