full name is

Hosa Technology ODL-276A - Bi-Directional Coaxial S/PDIF to Optical S/PDIF Data Link

or like item. it has to have a digital in and out. I dont' want a tos link to to usb or anything like that. I need it to be digital all the way. I have around 60 minidiscs coming to me that I need to process so quality is needed.

Did you ever find one?

I take it you don't trust the $9 adapters on eBay?

Out of curiosity, what're you planning to use to capture bit-perfect and bypass SCMS?

from what I gather those adapters don't keep it 100% digital the inside it converts to analog then back to "digital"

I preserve concert footage from tape to dvd/digital. Sometimes the filmer gets permission from the band which makes it slightly easier for me as nobody is trying to hide a big bulky hi8 camera but most of the time its done illegally.

sometimes there are filmers that recorded shows on audio as well, Ive been working with 1 filmer that did both so I'd sorta like to keep things as "lossless" as possible even though there will be some loss due to tapes/equipment/etc.
