Hey guys. Been a while since I've been around these parts. I got a new job after the last 'new job' I mentioned here that put me MIA on this site (and on the editors chair). Anyway, now that I'm rollin' in the dough (not really, but I got something that finally pays the bills) I've decided to leave this to the experts here on the site and send 'em my home movies for full remastering as I simply don't have the time.

So with that, I'm selling my rig. The following is up for sale:

- JVC S7800U VCR - $150
- AVT TBC - $200
- ATI 600 capture card - $25
- (2) 2TB Fantom Drive External Hard Drives - $80 each

The JVC I bought on ebay around Oct/Nov 2013, from the original owner (or so they say). The machine works perfectly from the little bit of messing around I did with it. I was able to find some parts on my home movies tapes that I couldn't see with my personal vcr, so it def. does a good job with tracking. The only thing I didn't like was the colors and image was "soft". However, I'm sure if I spent the time to figure how to use the machine's capabilities (I probably only messed around with the functions like 10 or 12 times just to see what it could do), along with the TBC functions (again, only messed around with it like 10 or 12 times), the picture quality could really improve. At least, from a hardware perspective anyway. I did a quick ebay/amazon check and there's 2 on ebay at roughly $300, and 1 for sale on amazon for $600. **Actually, if my memory serves me right, I couldn't figure out the VCR to PC setup at the time I saw these little bits and pieces, so I recorded with the dvd again, using this VCR.

The AVT I bought a few months before the VCR at exactly $198 before shipping, which was probably only like 5 or 10 bucks more. Again, I messed around with all the functions to see what it could do, and it worked fine.

Capture card was actually bought first as it was the cheapest. I bought it around May of 2013. I bought it used on ebay. I was able to record my tapes once I got the setup figured out, but unfortunately I can't remember if I ever figured out how to get rid of the 'dropped frames' issue. If I did, I probably ended up either sacrificing sound in order to not lose frames, or I had no problems, but realized I simply didn't have the time anymore to re-record everything. Either way the card works fine.

Lastly, the Fantom Drive external HDDs were somewhere around 80 bucks. I think I paid like 190-something dollars for the 2 of 'em (Memory may be hazy, but I know I didn't drop 200). I only used 1 of them to put my home movies (unedited) onto it. Obviously they won't be on there for whoever buys it, lol.

Ok, with those formalities outta the way:

- These are the prices before shipping.
- I am open to all offers
- I only ship in the USA
- I have a busy schedule and work overtime, so please be patient with me shipping them out.
- Shipping prices will vary depending on how you'd like them shipped out.

What I want to know if ATI 600 captures full chroma using S-Video.

Take a look at these 3 pictures for references. On the 1st one and the 3rd one you will see how ATI 600 USB doesn't capture full chroma. So if your card captures full chroma via S-Video, I would definitely be interested in purchasing it.

I actually don't know what those pictures are. I'll have to look up how to find that with my setup and I'll get back to you.

You need a DVD player with S-Video out and a DVD called digital video essentials to test it. Are you ever in the city?

Oh. Ugh, I actually don't have a dvd player anymore (unless you count my PC drive, lol). As for the city, not really. I live in Brooklyn and work in Queens. I go there to see a show every once in a while but with my work schedule (late nights) I only go out if by the slim chance there's something I wanna do and it's on a sunday or monday night.

**Update**

- Capture card has been sold.

- VCR is no longer $150. If anyone is interested, I'll give it away for free if buyer will pay shipping charges. Depending on what kind of shipping service and package (as well as insurance/priority), shipping price will vary.
