What software can I use to test my DVD optical drives and find out if they are good or bad mechanically, optical player and performance?

Burn a disc, see how it scans. There's really no way to know how well a drive itself is without seeing how it acts on the media.

Burn same media in another drive, both same make, and others, to see how it varies.

Testing a drive isn't easy without owning multiple drives. And for multiples of the same drive, it needs to be from another drive batch, probably bought from another vendor space some time apart.

Lots of variables must be removed, hence excess testing.

unfortunately i don't have several drive units so i won't be able to test
very complicated to test my drive

It's unusual for a drive to be bad, so you're probably fine here. Don't overthink it.

I would need to test it because my brother presented me with two drives 1 LG and 1 Samsung but without testing I am not sure if they are good to read and burn in the future
