That's something to consider.
Remember that the disc itself is probably the least looked at part of a "DVD" package -- the case artwork and DVD menus each get several minutes of potential read/viewing time, while a disc will often get fleeting seconds of attention, as it's removed from a case and put into the player. There's really nothing important on a disc, as compared to the DVD case (and its DVD case artwork with various info) or the DVD menu (used for navigating the disc content). Worse yet, the disc printing tends to cost more and take more time to create/print than DVD case artwork and DVD menu work combined!
