MP4 is highly compressed and it’s a lossy codec. It throws out things to compress to that small of a file. It’s great for sharing on the web and it compresses well it’s just not meant for editing....

I no longer use VDub for capturing; I use AmarecTV. It's simple and it keeps the audio in sync. I still use VDub to set up the histogram though.
