Yeah, I had to pitch one of them because it had viruses in it. So I'm being very cautious. I'm still looking into other options if possible.

The folks at Ign.com have encrypted their files from direct2drive.com, which doesn't make it possible, at least with the stuff I've got, to burn them onto a DVD so I can watch them on my television....

Cool, thanks for the info. That looks like the right ratio for a file of that size. I played some of those files on tv without correcting for overscan, and there wasn't any cutoff that really jumped...

Hmmm...I'm currently looking at a Toshiba D-R400. Looks good for the price. I don't need a VCR/DVD combo, so I'm screening those out, and they jack up the price anyway.
