It started yesterday. Previous tapes on other days have not squealed. It seems to occur when the brakes slow down the rewind, near the end of the rewind. The humidity was nearly 60% at the time. Might it possibly be moisture condensation onto the tape or brakes? I have read many interesting things on this forum. Alas, I am too inexperienced to know what I should do to safeguard my JVC and tapes. Should I ignore this and keep on going? Buy a room dehumidifier? Never run those tapes through my JVC again? All thoughts and advice are welcome. Thank you!
