To answer the pointless question, however -- since this is an FAQ site, after all -- there's no reason to not use a known-good power supply in another computer. Just be sure that:
- the type matches (ATX version)
- it carries enough watts
- it's clean, with no grime/dust blocking the fans
- the fans haven't seized up while it lay dormant (the bearings can dry up and lock)
- the wiring matches; you may need adapter cables
- it fits the computer case; some custom PSUs exist from the likes of Dell, HP, Sony, IBM and other "big names"
