I'm digging into my AG-5710 which mostly matches the AG-1980 except for a few key boards.

This pair is a match... and I have questions about the FM Audio sub-board on the Audio 2 board:

  • The FM Audio board has a lot of SMD caps. If I do NOT sense any audio issues, am I safe leaving this in place? (NOTE: I am only doing playback, not recording )
  • The FM Audio board appears to be plugged in to Audio 2 using two rows of 20 pins each. They appear socketed but I can't pull them apart. Do these simply pull apart or do I need to unsolder the 40 posts?
Thanks!

(FWIW, I am creating a comprehensive 2022 re-cap guide, including the differences between 5710 and 1980 )
